The DEEP Relief Team

Louisa Tomaio

L.Ac., Dipl. O.M., L.M.T.

Louisa is the owner/operator of DEEP Relief and has over 13 years of experience helping clients reduce pain, tension and stress, using the many tools in her tool bag.  Through the years Louisa has cultivated her craft by gathering feedback from 100s of clients and also from receiving her fair share of massages from various therapists through the years.  This feedback coupled with her personal experiences when receiving not so satisfying massages is the what shaped the foundation for the unique methods now offered to clients by the DEEP Relief team of therapists.

The “DR HIT THE SPOT” method is intended to satisfy that need to have someone find those pesky knots and spots that cause areas of nagging pain and tension, Louisa has also created a simple communication system to ensure your DR therapist is using the perfect pressure throughout the whole massage.

Finally, therapists that ask, listen and do what YOU want!

DR Sean Tipton, DC

Dr. Sean Tipton is originally from Clearwater, Florida where he was born and raised.  After graduating from high school, he joined the Army where he pursued a career in medicine as a surgical technologist in a mobile hospital.  Once he completed his military service, he continued his exploration of the United States by being a traveling surgical technologist. This is where he had many opportunities to work at prestigious hospitals such as the Mayo Clinic.  Even though Dr. Sean has experience in a wide range of surgical techniques, he mostly specialized in orthopedics.

Dr. Sean has had the opportunity to live in 16 states across the country.  After traveling across country, he settled in Arizona with his family and pursued his higher education by completing his Bachelors degree in Life Science from the Arizona State University in 2011.  While finishing his Bachelors degree, his family of nurses moved to Austin to settle and become caregivers in the surrounding Austin Hospitals. After graduating, Dr. Sean was able to move to Austin, TX with his family.  While in Austin, he began working at Dell Children’s Hospital for the next couple of years before discovering his love for chiropractic. He was then accepted to Parker University in Dallas, where he pursued his doctorate in chiropractic care.  Dr. Sean again had the opportunity to come back to Austin and serve at the VA Outpatient Clinic where he was able to provide chiropractic care to our veterans.

Family has always been very important to Dr. Sean and moving back to Austin has given him the ability to be close to his family, his parents and three other siblings, who all live very close to each other.  In that time, Sean has had many life changes. While living here in Austin, he discovered his soulmate and got married to his wife last October. He became a father in October 2018, a beautiful baby boy named Finley. Him and his wife are very excited to be new parents.

Ever since Dr. Sean became a Chiropractor, he remains excited and enthusiastic about providing excellent chiropractic care to his patients.  He believes in healing the entire body and maintaining that level of wellness. Dr. Sean has experience in many techniques that are tailored to the individual and not the masses.  Dr. Sean is excited to bring his uniqueness of care to DEEP RELIEF.

“At the end of the day, I have always thought a doctor is an educator -full of knowledge, and someone who you can rely on to teach you about your body. Someone who heals, someone who you can trust and someone who is a friend. That’s always been my goal,” says Dr. Tipton.

Belinda Mier

L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.

My heartfelt desire is to inspire the public about the benefits of a holistic approach to treat chronic illness and the advantages of Oriental Medicine in providing support for optimum health and longevity.
At it’s most basic, Traditional Chinese Medicine is about bringing the body, mind and spirit back into balance so that it can heal itself. Acupuncture stimulates the body’s energies to balance, and herbs gently help the body to make and keep that change.
I have personally experienced how small changes over time can make big difference in bringing your health to its optimum. This is possible no matter what your age is.  I am in awe of how well acupuncture and herbs can transform health challenges.
Belinda A. Mier graduated at the top of her class from Texas Health and Science University (formerly known as Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine) in Austin, Texas.

Belinda has completed additional training in the treatment of Alzheimer’s, Arthritis, Depressive disorders, Digestive issues, Parkinson’s, Post-Traumatic Stress disorder and Weight Loss.

Even though Belinda led very successful careers as a Medical Technologist, Forensic Scientist and Quality Control/ Assurance Specialist in the Biotechnology Industry, she was drawn to the unique system that is Oriental Medicine.

Her personal experience in the efficacy of acupuncture and herbs made her want to learn all that she could about this remarkable way to treat chronic illness. How amazing it is, to bring the body, mind and spirit back into balance with such simple techniques.

Additionally, Belinda holds undergraduate degrees in Microbiology and Medical Technology from the University of Texas at Austin.

Tana L.M.T.

In 1984, my roommates and I attended a casual massage class, looking for relief for our own neglected bodies. It was informal, on mats, on the floor and through clothes, mostly just getting to know what felt good and what to avoid. There were 15-20 students in the class and we traded with each other throughout the class. I felt doubtful when many of my trading partners exclaimed about my touch! When, at the end of the day, even the instructor commented on my “gift”, I wondered, If I am this good and don’t know what I am doing… The rest is synchronicity! The classes, the money, the time and the instructors all came together throughout my whole career. The chiropractor who taught me anatomy and physiology with such passion, lit a fire of wonder and curiosity about the inner workings of the body and the language of pain/pleasure that it speaks and how to respond, has been my quest ever since. I share what knowledge I have with anyone who shows interest and will listen so that they, too, can respond with compassion when their body speaks to them!
I have studied modalities from light energy work , like Reiki, CranioSacral, Touch for Health, Lymph drainage and Access Consciousness -The Bars, to Medium pressure with Trigger point, Myofascial Tissue release, and Body Mobilization technique.  Specialty modalities like Hot Stones, prenatal massage, body electronics, facilitated stretching, QiGong and of course, the HIT THE SPOT method with Deep Relief. My varied “tools” serve me well, since everyone’s body, tolerance and preferences are different.
For me, the training will never end and the synchronicity still generously supplies all the possibilities! There is still Thai massage and SMRT classes, Lomi Lomi and so many more to be explored!

Erin L.M.T.

I grew up in the Houston area, and turned to massage therapy as a natural continuation of my 20 years of pursuing dance. I am an intuitive therapist, and I work according to the changes I feel happening beneath my hands; my approach to massage is to gradually reduce tension from broad to narrow, and I enjoy helping clients meet detailed, therapeutic goals. I view massage as both a science and an art, with a keen eye for muscular imbalance after so many years studying the body in motion.

I am a UT Longhorn, and graduated with degrees in both dance and journalism. My husband and I have two cats, and a high-traffic home – we love hosting and cooking for our friends! When I’m not practicing massage, I’m likely doing a home improvement project, or reading yet another Robert Jordan fantasy novel.

Raymond L.M.T.

Raymond moved to Austin in 95 to pursue career in nursing. Shortly after that, an auto accident helped him to see how the benefits of chiropractic work and massage therapy could help heal the body naturally.
So a career change was made in 2000 after attending Austin School of Massage Therapy.
“ My goal is to continually grow in my commitment in working with others to have a better understanding of wellness through the holistic approach of therapeutic massage”.

Chris L.M.T.

When I started massage therapy school, I thought massage was just for relaxation. However, as an athlete, one of my goals was to learn as much as I could about how the body functions so I could improve my running performance. I entered school with a shoulder injury from snowboarding which caused significant pain when I reached behind my back. While studying trigger point therapy, I discovered a tender spot on my shoulder blade. I asked a classmate to push on the painful spot (a trigger point.) It was very painful, but after a few minutes a vertebra in my neck shifted and the pain in my shoulder went away. I went on to do extensive study in Trigger Point Therapy with lots of great results   for my clients. Because Trigger Point Therapy has limitations and a full body approach seems needed to resolve chronic pain complaints, I applied for and completed the KMI course in Structural Integration and became a Certified Structural Integrator. I feel grateful to work in a profession that constantly challenges me to learn more about the body to help my clients and rewards me with seeing clients make sometimes dramatic improvements.
